602091_456318107773166_1082335502_nMitch Cunningham is a higher degree by research (PhD) candidate with Deakin University, based in Melbourne. His research, concerning critical rhetoric and the fiction of David Foster Wallace, has been featured at the ‘Infinite Wallace’ International Conference (Paris University 3, la Sorbonne Nouvelle), and as part of ‘Ghost Stories, Love Stories, New Stories: Reconfiguring David Foster Wallace for the Australian Academy’, a refereed panel at the 2015 AAWP national conference (Swinburne University). This research centers on the critical significance of the term ‘reader’ in Wallace’s short fictions and essays, and its impact on contemporary “conversations” with the author and his texts.

Mitch also writes songs for the band Martians of Error, under the pseudonym Will Fuhrman, and contributes occasional reviews and interviews for the website PopCulture-y

Mitch has also worked as an emcee, youth arts organizer, project manager, and marketing communications coordinator for businesses across Geelong, Melbourne and Western Sydney.
